An Awesome Site!

Check this site out!

It's got all kinds of radness on it!
There are articles featuring shops, designers, tips, and ideas for almost anything.
I have just started writing for them, and have posted my second article, about taking nice product photos :)

I have made something magic!

Ok. I lied. A little. These necklaces aren't magic, but they are pretty awesome!
I love old time things, old photographs, apothecary bottles, and other old randomness.

These candies I made from polymer reminds me of old penny candy.
And sometimes, the candy that Grandma had sitting in dishes in her house.

I am so pleased with how they turned out!

Clay is so fun. It makes me feel like a kid again, playing with Play Doh!

MONSTERETSY!

So, I try very hard to be active in my 'street team', MonsterEtsy.
But...It's difficult sometimes! But I've been getting better at it.

If you like creepiness, and monsters of all kinds, go check out the team's blog, with posts from the members!

Good times, new things!

I have been crazy busy getting ready for the Blue Appalachia craft show, and also doing various other projects, like skate strap repairs for team mates!
Here's a few of the new goods!

Hellbilly Craft Show!

Yay! We are putting together a craft show, which the likes of have never been seen in this area!
It's more of a tiny festival!
We are having live rockabilly music, as well as vending from some of the area's raddest crafters!

The derby league will also be there, promoting, recruiting, and selling merchandise.
Our merch is the regular derby merch, like t-shirts and buttons, but it gets radder!
I have made some awesome, screen printed pouches, and we have customized toe guards as well!

This is the first time we are having this show, and if all goes well, we plan to turn it into a regular event! If you are local, you should definitely come out!

Cruise-In Victory!

MDRV- 163
RCR - 88

The Cruise-In was a success! I can officially say this, because we ran out of beer.
River City is a rad team, and we had a wonderful time playing them!
They are some classy, tough gals!

Here are some photos by Ritchie Bowe.

Me, getting nailed by Paris Kills, while jamming.

Holding the jammer off with a wall of booty!

I love how 3 refs are just hanging there, watching the pile-up that took almost everyone out.

Last home bout of the season!

One more bout to go at home, then we hit the road for away bouts!
As much fun as it is to play at home, I really love away bouts too! We get to all travel together, and normally find insane, crazy things to do. And it is always a good time getting to skate on different surfaces other than our rink floor.

Come out and see us on Sunday! There will be a car show first, than DERBY!

Shiny New Things!

It seems like forever since I have listed some new jewelry. Or anything else. But in reality, it was only a few days.
We have been super busy. The twins turned one last Friday, and all kinds of other craziness has been going on.
Here is a few of the new pieces!

OPEN HOUSE AND ROUND ROBIN PLAY DATE!

June 19th is a first for us!
We have invited skaters from other leagues to our rink, and have 4 teams.
Strawberry Whorecakes (my team)
Sesame Streetwalkers
Rubik's Boobs
The Erection Sets

Why toy themed? Well, it's also a "Toys for Tots" fundraiser!
Skaters and guests will be bringing new, unwrapped toys to donate to Tots.
We will have Cakes and Walkers play, then Boobs and Sets will play.
Winner from those two scrimmages will play each other for 1st and 2nd place.
Losers from those two scrimmages will play each other for 3rd and 4th place.
It's going to be so awesome!

It is also an OPEN HOUSE!
Which means recruitment will be open for a short period of time.
If you want to be a Vixen, it is super important to attend the open house!
Schedule is on our myspace page.

Blog Interview!

Blog interviews are always fun!
We just had one here.
And a sweet giveaway!

Plus, new pieces in the Etsy and Artfire shops, like these!

We Won!

Mason-Dixon Roller Vixens 167
Rocktown Rollers 64

It was a hot and sweaty day on July 12.
We had our away team come all the way from Harrisonburg, VA.
It was an absolute fun time!
Rocktown Rollers are a great group of girls, and a pleasure to skate with.
I love to bout/scrimmage with other girls, knock each other over, and then laugh about it later!
We are still waiting for some bout photos.

First time blogger

So, this is a first post.
People call me liz dexic. I skate with Mason-Dixon Roller Vixens. I also run a one woman show, called Dotted with Hearts. You can find me here, here, and here!
I make things. Rad things.
I also vend at local derby bouts, handmade events, and I love to do the Punk Rock Flea Market as well.
I have been encouraged, like many other 'small businesses' to start a blog, and with input from others, decided to mix that with derby!
So, this should be interesting!
